Signs of Throat Cancer
Cancer of the throat and mouth have similar symptoms and are often lumped together when exploring their symptoms. Discovered mostly by dentists, the signs of throat cancer as well as the mouth are often disguised by common maladies and are treated incorrectly. The following are the basic signs of throat cancer:
Coughing
Hoarseness or changes in your voice sound and quality
Problems with swallowing
Ear soreness and pain
Lumps or sores that take long periods to heal or simply don’t heal
Sore Throat
Unexplained Weight Loss
Swelling in the jaw area
As you can see, the above list is very general and could occur in any number of common ailments that would never even send you to the doctor. So, what makes you worried? What sends you to the doctor for further tests? First of all, make sure that you’re keeping regular dentist appointments as they would be the first ones to see an abnormality that didn’t fit into a normal sickness. In most cases, the dentist will refer you to either an ear, nose and throat doctor or a general practitioner.
